AACSB Accredited Online MBA Programs

AACSB Accredited Online MBA Programs

Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) is an international accrediting body for post-secondary business schools. The programmatic accreditation provides additional quality assurance for business programs. AACSB accredited online MBA programs is not the same as institutional accreditation, which is awarded separately by the higher education institution’s accreditor.

AACSB is an independent accreditation body that sets academic standards for business-related programs globally. Today, accredits more than 800 institutions. There are many schools who provide accredited courses in business, but not all of them satisfy the rigorous standards set by the AACSB. As an internationally recognized institution, AACSB has set stringent standards for quality education and performance outcomes for business students. And unlike other accreditation bodies, schools must continually reapply for AACSB accreditation every five years to maintain their accreditation status.

AACSB accreditation is one of the most widely accepted accreditations in the educational world, especially since it is geared toward management and business-related degrees. Thousands of schools and universities around the world hold AACSB accreditation for both their undergraduate and graduate business programs.

Are Online MBA Programs Credible ?

Online MBA programs have evolved greatly over the past decade. Gone are the days when distance learning was limited to simple video lectures. Today, prospective students can enjoy fully interactive courses done entirely online. Distance learning students can participate in group discussions, ask questions through discussion boards and video chats, upload files, and gain access to live office hours with their professors.

Online MBA programs are designed for professionals who can’t take time off from work to attend classes on campus. Instead of taking time off from your job to earn a degree, you can opt for an online MBA program from the convenience of your home or workplace. An Online MBA program can provide an alternative to traditional on-campus programs, while providing the same level of education you would get at a regular university.

Several respected accrediting organizations conduct reviews and quality checks on online education programs to ensure their quality. Accrediting agencies, such as AACSB, create their own set of standards and guidelines covering aspects of education quality and ethics. Some employers may require that applicants hold degrees from AACSB-accredited programs.

Other MBA Accreditation Bodies

Although often viewed as the foremost programmatic accreditor for business schools, the AACSB is only one of several accreditation bodies for these programs. Students should choose schools that are regionally or nationally accredited through accrediting agencies approved by the U.S Department of Education. These agencies accredit an entire institution, covering all programs offered. Additional quality assurance is provided by programmatic accreditation agencies like AACSB, and graduates of those programs may have an advantage in the job market.

There are numerous online MBA accreditation options available for students to pursue before selecting the best online MBA. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) created a system that’s used by more than 1,100 business schools worldwide to evaluate them based on their curriculum, faculty qualifications, student services and much more. It’s an important first step for entrepreneurs considering an online MBA option.

The Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) are the two main accrediting bodies that provide accreditation to business programs at the associate level. These two organizations each provide accreditation based on their own individual set of standards, which may differ from agency to agency. For this reason, prospective students should research association and agency requirements prior to applying.
