Graduating from high school is one of the most exciting times in a young adult’s life. The next step is choosing the right nursing program that will give you the education and training required to be successful in this rapidly growing field. But, because of the increasing costs of college, many people find it hard to afford a post-secondary education. However, there are many kinds of financial assistance available to help you on your path to a nursing career.
The Community Foundation of West Texas is offering a number of scholarships created through the generosity of individuals, families and businesses in our community for which students can apply.
The following scholarships are endowed funds within the Foundation. The application process may vary depending on whether recipients are chosen by a Foundation committee or by an external scholarship committee.
The scholarship payments are always paid directly to the educational institution and cannot be used for other expenses. Those funds that are not used during the academic year are returned to the Foundation. learn about RN to MSN online programs here.

The Community Foundation of West Texas has established the Fallen Heroes Fund to assist with educational expenses of dependent survivors of service men and women and first responders who have died on active duty since September 11, 2001. Dependent survivors would include spouse, sons, and daughters (biological, adopted or step children). The scholarships are available as supplements to financial aid and survivor educational benefits. The applicant may be registered as a full or part-time student. Scholarship funding will not exceed the cost of a four-year degree at Texas Tech University.

The Mary E. Massingill Scholarship Fund was launched in 2019 to honor the many contributions of Mary E. Massingill who retired from Lubbock ISD at the age of 85 after a 44-year career as a Kindergarten Teaching Assistant. She began teaching at Murfee Elementary, then moved to Honey Elementary as part of the inaugural staff when the school opened in 1983. During her career, Mary supported literacy for generations of children, but more importantly, she helped fuel a love of learning. The scholarship for Honey Bear Scholars recognizes the promise found in high school students graduating, ready for college and career. This Legacy of Learning Scholar recognizes the promise found in a college student, ready for student teaching and a career in education, as well as the critical importance of a caring and qualified teacher in every classroom.
Please note the Honey Bear Scholars will be awarded to a graduating high school senior in even years. The Mary E. Massingill Legacy of Learning Scholar recognition will be awarded to a student teacher from Texas Tech in odd years.

The William Meadors Lifelong Learner Scholarship was established by an anonymous donor. Mr. Meadors went to school at Frenship, Texas Tech, and Library School at University of North Texas. Bill taught English, reading and social studies for ten years, then was librarian at Lubbock High School for 38 years. Bill’s goals in life were to love God, love his neighbor, and encourage a love of reading. Bill volunteered for Lubbock Friends of the Library, The National Ranching Heritage Center, and the O.L.L.I Program. He loved giving book talks and leading book discussions. The A.T. Anderson Memorial Scholarship Program is supported by memorials, individual donations, AISES fundraisers, and other corporate grants. This scholarship was created in memory of A.T. Anderson, one of the AISES founders.

Generous donors to Lincoln Community Foundation have established more than 80 scholarship funds that benefit students in Lancaster County and across the state of Nebraska. For 2020, there were over 250 individual awards, amounting to a total of $420,000.

The Florence (Madden) Grady-Fasick Scholarship
The Florence (Madden) Grady-Fasick Scholarship Fund at NFP awards scholarships to nursing students who demonstrate financial need. The funds are intended for nursing students in their second semester or later of study. To fulfill the post requirements, you must be a member of the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association.

The Nursing Foundation of Pennsylvania Nurse Leader Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate leadership abilities while pursuing a nursing degree.
The funds are intended for full-time nursing students enrolled in an accredited BSN, MSN, or doctoral program in the state of Pennsylvania.

The scholarship fund was established by the Alumni Association of Albert Einstein Medical Center School of Nursing in Philadelphia in order to continue providing qualified, devoted, and caring individuals to the nursing profession.
Assuming qualified applicants, the standard will make an effort to select at least one scholarship recipient in each of the degree levels each year. However, if multiple strong candidates stand out in a specific degree level, NFP’s scholarship committee reserves the right to select more from that group rather than from each degree level.

This memorial nursing scholarship fund was established in 1989 at the VFW State Convention in honor of their Sr. Department Commander (1987-88), who passed away while still in office.
Reserved specifically at least one of the following:
1. Active duty service member
2. U.S. veteran;
3. The child or spouse of a veteran or active duty service member.
In addition, the recipient must be a resident of Pennsylvania, an undergraduate student, and is required to attend the local VFW district meeting to accept the scholarship award.

Recognizing the growing need for qualified addiction and mental health professionals to assist those struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders, American Addiction Centers (AAC) decided to launch an educational scholarship program to assist students enrolled in Behavioral Health college programs in 2015. Our Behavioral Health scholarship awards were created to provide financial assistance to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing careers in behavioral health and addiction-related studies.
$10,000 in Scholarships Awarded
This scholarship program awards $5,000 to deserving nursing students enrolled in baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral programs at AACN member institutions. Eligible applicants must be admitted or enrolled in a CastleBranch-affiliated nursing school or have applied through NursingCAS, the centralized application service for nursing.
California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development lists the Bachelor of Science Nursing Scholarship for students in California.
The Healthline and Prevention Institute Stronger Scholarship awards three $7,000 scholarships to a Black, a Hispanic/Latinx, and an Indigenous student reducing health inequities in their community.
The National Black Nurses Association, Inc. (NBNA) offers annual scholarships to students who are NBNA members or local chapter members, are enrolled in an undergraduate nursing program, and have at least one full year of school left.
Tafford Uniforms awards $1000 to a nursing student at an accredited college or university in the U.S. (who has at least one semester remaining prior to graduation from the program).
Students currently enrolled and matriculated in a state-approved nursing program leading to an associate degree, baccalaureate, diploma, generic pre-licensure doctorate, or generic pre-licensure master’s degree; or enrolled in an RN to BSN completion, RN to MSN completion, or LPN/LVN to RN program are eligible for the FNSNA Undergraduate Scholarship.
American Assembly for Men in Nursing Foundation is sponsoring a five student scholarships to male students pursuing undergraduate and graduate nursing degrees.
American Association of Post-Acute Care Nursing offers scholarships through their foundation for students pursuing a BSN or higher.
American Indian Graduate Center (AIGC) offers a series of scholarships for eligible American Indian and Alaskan Natives.
American Medical Resource Institute offers an annual scholarship program for students pursuing a career in the healthcare industry. One applicant will be awarded $1,000 for completing a 2000-word essay covering one of two healthcare topics. A winner will be chosen on merit.

Scholarships for Underprivileged Students (SDS): The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is now accepting applications for the Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students (SDS) Program for fiscal year 2020. The application period ends on March 3, 2020. The SDS program broadens the health workforce by funding eligible academic institutions that educate health profession students. Scholarships are then made available to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have financial need. In fiscal year 2020, HRSA has $48,200,000 available to make approximately 79 awards. No student may receive more than $40,000 in SDS funds per academic year.

Purpose: The AAOHN Foundation will award one grant to the next session of the Nurse in Washington Internship to encourage AAOHN member participation and learning about the legislative process (NIWI). The grant is intended to cover the costs of attending NIWI.
The Nursing Organizations Alliance, an umbrella group of national nursing organizations of which AAOHN is a member, sponsors the program, which allows participants to learn from health policy experts, members of Congress, and other government officials, as well as network with nurses from across the country.
The AINS is sponsored by the National Student Nurses’ Association (NSCDA). It is administered by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Indian Health Services, and regulates NSCDA scholarships. National scholarships for Native American students, including male and females, are available through the American Indian Nurse Scholarship Program.

Career Mobility Scholarships
Career Mobility Scholarships will be awarded annually to support qualified ANNA members in the pursuit of either a BSN or advanced degree in nursing.
Since 1950, the Arc of Washington Trust Fund has supported research aimed at improving the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.We continue to fund research by Washington state investigators aimed at meeting the Trust Fund’s mission of “supporting research identifying issues affecting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, supporting programs enriching their lives, and supporting the education and training of community members working with the I/DD population.” We invite grant proposals for the 2021 funding period.
Research grants are limited to $20,000 per year, and indirect costs are limited to 10% of the total budget. The submissions that have access to matching funds and are compatible with the current pandemic environment will be prioritized.
The research must either benefit individuals with I/DD or lead to programmatic or legislative changes. Proposals from early-career investigators (those in their first 10 years of research) are preferred, but investigators at all career stages are encouraged to apply. Furthermore, proposals that have a high likelihood of attracting concurrent or follow-on funding from federal, state, or other sources are preferred.

The Barbara Rhomberg Excellence in Nursing Scholarship, sponsored by B4 Brands, is awarded each year to a non-traditional, fulltime student pursuing undergraduate degrees in nursing. College and University Students
Criteria for college and university students pursuing undergraduate degrees in a field such as special education. Lutheran school teacher, director of Christian education, pre-seminary and deaconess preparation studies that will prepare them for ministry with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, so that opportunities to share God’s Word and Jesus’ love are available.
Scholarships:
A $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to one student who is currently attending or plans to attend an approved, accredited medical school, college, or university. The applicant must have a GPA of at least 3.25. This scholarship is not automatically renewable; however, recipients may reapply for consideration each year for up to four consecutive years, pending receipt of proof of continued enrollment (no pre–med, veterinarian, or physician assistant), and an annual transcript review indicating a minimum GPA of 3.25 after the first semester.
The Irene and Daisy MacGregor Memorial Scholarship is given to two students who have been accepted into or are pursuing an approved course of study to become a medical doctor (no pre-med, veterinarian, or physician assistant) at an approved, accredited medical school. Renewal is contingent on maintaining a GPA of 3.25.
Additionally, the scholarship is available to students who have been accepted into or who are currently pursuing an accredited graduate-level nursing program at accredited medical schools, colleges, or universities. Female applicants are preferred “if equally qualified.”
A one-time preferred amount of $5,000 to a female student who is a US citizen and is enrolled in medical school. Academic merit with a minimum GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale or an equivalent GPA on the scale used by the relevant educational institution will determine the selection of candidates. The recipient may reapply for the scholarship each year, but they are not guaranteed to receive it.
A $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student who has been accepted into or is currently enrolled in an approved course of study to become a medical doctor (no pre–med, veterinarian, or physician assistant) at approved, accredited medical schools, colleges, and universities. Three students in financial need who have been accepted or are currently enrolled in an accredited nursing school receive a one-time $2,500 award. A letter of acceptance into a nursing program or a transcript indicating that the applicant is currently enrolled in a nursing program must be submitted with the application.
A $2,500 one-time award given to two students in financial need who are District of Columbia residents and have been accepted or are currently enrolled in a Nursing program at the University of the District of Columbia. A minimum GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale is required, or the equivalent GPA on the institution’s scale. The University of the District of Columbia is solely responsible for administering this scholarship.
The Madeline Pickett (Halbert) Cogswell Nursing Scholarship, worth $2,500, is given to two students who have been accepted or enrolled in an accredited nursing program. Applicants must be NSDAR members, descendents of members, or eligible for membership. The DAR member number of the mother, grandmother, or stepmother who is a current dues-paying member must be included on the application.
A $2,000 one-time scholarship for two students who are financially needy and have been accepted or are currently enrolled in an accredited nursing school. The application must be accompanied by a letter of acceptance into the Nursing Program or a transcript indicating that the applicant is enrolled in the Nursing Program. Candidates from the Lowell, MA area will be given preference.
The Occupational/Physical Therapy Scholarship provides $2,000 to two students with financial need who have been accepted to, or are attending, an accredited school of occupational therapy (including art, music, or physical therapy).

Nursing Scholarships Are Available Through the Church of the Brethren
Each year, the Church of the Brethren awards a limited number of scholarships to nursing students. Candidates for the scholarships must be members of the Church of the Brethren and enrolled in an LPN, RN, or nursing graduate program.
Each year, a limited number of applicants will be awarded scholarships of up to $2,000 for RN and graduate nurse candidates and $1,000 for LPN candidates. New applications are given priority. Individuals in their second year of an associate’s degree program or third year of a baccalaureate program will also be given preference. Scholarship recipients can only receive one scholarship per degree.
Nominees must be Church of the Brethren members. Applications and supporting documentation are due by April 1st. Scholarship recipients will be notified in July, and funds will be sent directly to the appropriate school for the Fall semester.
How are these awards made possible? Scholarships are awarded through the Health Education and Research Endowment, which was established in 1958 to receive gifts raised during a fund drive authorized by the 1949 Annual Conference to reopen the Bethany Hospital School of Nursing, which was previously located on Chicago’s west side. EMPOWER (Encourage Minority Participation in Occupations with Emphasis on Rehabilitation) Scholarships from Courage Kenny Foundation facilitates the education of ethnically diverse students who are interested in careers in medicine or rehabilitation.
The scholarship is made possible by a generous gift from David M. Hersey Endowment Fund of the Courage Kenny Foundation.
Applicants must demonstrate their interest in rehabilitation and explain how they intend to use their education and training. The applicant’s stated intentions, past achievements, need, and graduation ranking all play a role in selection.
The ENA Foundation proudly offers educational scholarships each year to further the advancement of emergency nursing. Academic scholarships are available to members and nonmembers seeking education ranging from associate’s degrees to doctorates, as are conference scholarships for members interested in attending ENA’s annual education and networking conference.

Peter Gili Scholarship Award
A $500.00 scholarship will be awarded to a nursing student with a disability. This scholarship has been donated by family members and friends in memory of Peter Gili.
Caroline Simpson Maheady Scholarship Award
A nursing student with a disability will receive a $250.00 scholarship. An undergraduate student of Scottish descent who has demonstrated a commitment to working with people with disabilities will be given preference.
A qualified student with a disability will receive a $250.00 scholarship from ExceptionalNurse.com to continue their education in a nursing education program. Undergraduate students are given preference. Applicants must demonstrate a serious commitment to academic nursing studies as well as career excellence. This scholarship is not renewable and will be given only once.
Jill Laura Creedon Scholarship Award
A nursing student with a disability or medical challenge will receive a $500.00 scholarship. The Johnson & Johnson Campaign for Nursing’s Future has provided funding for this scholarship in memory of Jill Laura Creedon. Jill Creedon wrote an inspirational essay. This essay was submitted as part of her application to Villanova University’s College of Nursing.

A $500.00 scholarship will be awarded to a nursing student with a disability. Preference will be given to a graduate student who has demonstrated a commitment to working with people with disabilities.
Bruno Rolando Scholarship Award
A $250.00 scholarship will be awarded to a nursing student with a disability. Preference will be given to a nursing student who is employed at a Veteran’s Hospital.
Mary Serra Gili Scholarship Award
A $250.00 scholarship will be awarded to a nursing student with a disability. This scholarship has been donated by Thomas Gili.
Genevieve Saran Richmond Award
A $500.00 scholarship will be awarded to a nursing student with a disability. This scholarship has been donated by Leslie and Virginia Fiur.
Are you an Eligible Candidate?
We are looking for first-generation high school seniors who are underrepresented, in need of financial assistance, and enthusiastic about furthering their education in order to help their family, community, and themselves. We want to be able to find, sponsor, and guide leaders who are determined to succeed by any means possible, regardless of their struggles, lack of resources, or hardships in the community in which they live. We want to be a part of a student’s support system and guide them to a successful future throughout their college career.
Purpose
To promote a broad range of professional health occupations by awarding scholarships for attendance at institutions of higher learning. Professional health occupations may include, but are not limited to, nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, physicians, radiology/lab technicians, psychologists, health administration, and biologists.
Background
The Franklin D. Boyce Scholarship was established in August 1996 in recognition of the long years of service provided by Mr. Boyce as CEO of John Randolph Medical Center, and as the first CEO of John Randolph Foundation. Funding for the Boyce Scholarship Program is provided through private donations and through the John Randolph Foundation Endowment.
Policy
The scholarship program is available to residents of the City of Hopewell and the following localities: Prince George, Colonial Heights, Petersburg, Fort Lee, Dinwiddie, Sussex, Surry, Chesterfield (South of Rt. 288 and East of Ironbridge Road), Charles City and Varina (Southeast Henrico, south of I-64). Student interns working for John Randolph Foundation are eligible to apply; however, foundation trustees, other foundation employees and their immediate families (parents, spouses, brothers, sisters, and anyone claimed as a dependent for tax purposes) are not eligible to apply.
Procedure
The scholarship amount is $2,500 and will be paid directly to the school for current year tuition, fees, books purchased through the institution attended, and on-campus dormitory and meal plan expenses. The scholarship committee will review and evaluate all applications and announce awards each spring. The committee will also review and revise the scholarship policy and criteria as necessary.
Every year, the Foundation awards scholarships to deserving students pursuing a degree in health care in Muskingum, Perry, Guernsey, Coshocton, Noble, and Morgan counties. Our scholarships are listed below. See the scholarship application for more information and to apply. Applications will be accepted beginning April 1st and will close on June 11, 2021.
The John A. & Bobbie Gonder Memorial Scholarship was created in honor of John A. & Bobbie Gonder, former Genesis HealthCare Foundation Director of Development, and his wife. This scholarship is available to applicants pursuing a career in health care and preferably residing in the Muskingum, Morgan, Perry, Coshocton, Noble, and Guernsey counties served by Genesis (permanent address not school address).
The Hooper Scholarship was established by James and Betty Hooper of Zanesville, Ohio. This scholarship provides funds for applicants pursuing a career in a healthcare field other than nursing. Applicants must be Genesis HealthCare System employees or family members who reside in Muskingum or Perry County (permanent address, not school address).
The Merry Nursing Scholarship, in memory of Edward L. Merry and Bernice Anderson Merry, was established to provide funds to a student to assist the student in attaining a higher degree in Nursing. The scholarship provides $1,000 per semester for students enrolled at an accredited school for nurses in Muskingum County (permanent address, not school address).
Donald Moody established the Moody Nursing Scholarship in memory of his wife, Judith M. Moody, R.N. This scholarship is available to applicants pursuing a nursing degree. Preference will be given to Genesis HealthCare System employees and their immediate families who live in the Muskingum, Morgan, Perry, Coshocton, Noble, and Guernsey counties served by Genesis Healthcare System (permanent address not school address).
The Charles and Gloria Wehr Nursing Scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Charles L. and Gloria Wehr, who were longtime employees of the Genesis HealthCare System. Dr. Wehr was an oncologist and his wife was a registered nurse as well as an educator for the Genesis HealthCare System. The scholarship is intended to provide funds for applicants pursuing a degree in nursing, in any area of nursing practice, from a college or university located in Muskingum County.
The Good Samaritan Nurses Alumni Scholarship is an annual award to students who are children of graduates of Good Samaritan School of Nursing. This scholarship provides funds for applicants pursuing a degree in nursing or a health-related field. The purpose of the fund is to support education of women and/or men who exemplify the same qualities that Good Samaritan nurses represent: dedication, compassion, a willingness to serve, and an understanding of service as something that must be done in all possible circumstances. Contributions to this scholarship are managed and awarded by the Good Samaritan Nurses Alumni Association through its scholarship committee.
The Dr. Bobby D. Young Scholarship was established by the family of Dr. Bobby D. Young. This scholarship provides funds for applicants pursuing a degree in nursing or a health-related field. Preference will be given to applicants who reside in the Genesis HealthCare System service area of Muskingum and Perry counties (permanent address not school address).
The Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association Scholarship was established by the Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association to provide scholarships to descendants of graduates of the Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing. This scholarship is open for applicants pursuing a degree in nursing or a health-related field. Applicants must be enrolled as full time undergraduate or graduate students.
The Robert C. Bumpus Family Scholarship was established by the Genesis Pro-Am Committee to honor his memory as one of the founding fathers of this event. This scholarship provides funds for applicants pursuing a career in health care and preferably reside in the Genesis Service Area (Muskingum, Morgan, Perry, Coshocton, Noble or Guernsey) permanent address not school address.
The Ellen Hillis Scholarship was established by the Genesis Pro-Am Committee to honor her 28 years of service and dedication to the Genesis Pro-Am. This scholarship provides funds for applicants pursuing a career in health care and preferably reside in the Genesis Service Area (Muskingum, Morgan, Perry, Coshocton, Noble or Guernsey) permanent address not school address.
The Boland Nurses Scholarship Trust was founded to provide additional scholarship support to those Voitures Locale who have exhausted their scholarship funds but who still have qualified individuals applying for scholarships. The trust is administered by Voiture Nationale, and all determinations regarding the awarding of scholarships grants are made by the Boland Trust Committee consisting of three (3) members of La Societe. Only those Voitures Locale who have an official Nurses Training Program in place may apply to the Boland Trust for further assistance, as the Trust Fund is intended as a supplement to, and not a replacement for, a local nurses training program.
The Gladys Carol Scholarship Program is open to high school seniors, high school graduates, and current undergraduate level students who are United States citizens or permanent residents. They must be accepted to or enrolled in a full-time STEM (science, technology, engineering or math) program at an accredited, non-profit public or private four-year college or university in the United States.
A Gladys Carol Scholarship is an award up to $5,000, and is merit based. A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent on an unweighted scale) is required, along with a minimum 1290 SAT score OR a minimum 28 ACT score.
A Gladys Carol Scholarship will award $2,500 for one year of study, and can be renewed for a second $2,500 award for a consecutive year of study if the following pre-requisites are met:
Must stay enrolled in a full-time STEM (science, technology, engineering or math) field of study at an accredited non-profit public or private four-year college or university in the United States for the follow-on academic year.
-AND-
Achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
-OR-
Achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent) while working in a paid position or internship, or as a volunteer, or a combination thereof a minimum average of 16 hours per week.
Scholarships are awarded to nursing students who demonstrate strong desire to promote the nursing profession through excellence in their studies, devotion to patient care and advancement of the nursing profession.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
You must be a Maryland resident and demonstrate financial need. You must be enrolled as a degree-seeking student, either part-time or full-time, and attend one of the following schools: University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Law, Pharmacy, or Social Work; University of Baltimore School of Law; The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine; The Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, or certain Maryland institutions offering a master’s degree in nursing or social work or a first professional degree in pharmacy.

Applicants are ranked on the basis of the student need as demonstrated on the FAFSA.
AWARD AMOUNT
The minimum award is $1,000 per year and the maximum award is $5,000 per year. Funds may not be available to award all eligible students.
RENEWING AN AWARD
You may receive an award for a maximum of eight semesters if you remain enrolled in an eligible program; maintain the satisfactory academic progress standards of your institution; file a FAFSA each year, and demonstrate need. The institution determines eligibility for renewals.

Effective immediately, the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) will no longer be accepting Hal and Jo Cohen Graduate Nursing Faculty (GNF) Scholarship applications, as funding is no longer available to make additional awards.
Important Note: If you are a current recipient of the Hal and Jo Cohen GNF Scholarship please be advised that your current Hal and Jo Cohen GNF award will continue and your award may be accessed at your institution for the duration of your approved graduate program. The continuation of your award is contingent upon your continued progress and commitment to prepare to teach as noted in your signed service obligation agreement and promissory note.

This scholarship is also available to students who have been accepted into or who are pursuing an approved course of study in the field of psychiatric nursing at the graduate level at accredited medical schools, colleges, or universities. There is a preference for females “if equally qualified.”
A preferred amount of $5,000 scholarship awarded to one student either attending or planning to attend an approved, accredited medical school, college, or university. The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.25. This scholarship is not automatically renewable; however, recipients may reapply for consideration each year for up to four consecutive years, pending receipt of proof of continued enrollment (no pre–med, veterinarian, or physician assistant), and after the first semester, an annual transcript review indicating a minimum GPA of 3.25.
A one-time preferred amount of $5,000 to a deserving female student who is a US citizen attending medical school. The selection process is based on academic merit with a minimum GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent GPA on the scale used by the applicable educational institution. The recipient may reapply for the scholarship each year, but is not guaranteed the award.
A $5,000 scholarship awarded to one student who has been accepted into or who is pursuing an approved course of study to become a medical doctor (no pre–med, veterinarian, or physician assistant) at approved, accredited medical schools, colleges, and universities. The Occupational/Physical Therapy Scholarship, in the amount of $2,000, is awarded to two students who are in financial need and have been accepted or are attending an accredited school of occupational therapy (including art, music, or physical therapy).
2021-2022 James M. & Erma T. Freemont Foundation Scholarship Program
The Freemont Foundation Scholarship Program is available to graduating high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students.
Through generous donations, the Foundation is able to provide scholarships to outstanding students, the “Freemont Scholars”. It is the duty of our dedicated Board of Directors to determine the most outstanding individuals to receive these awards.
Freemont Scholars are selected from a nationwide pool of applicants. The Freemont Foundation awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students with a record of leadership and volunteerism in the community and participation in extracurricular school activities.
The scholarship awards will be announced in the Spring of 2021.

Nursing Incentive Scholarship Fund
The Nursing Incentive Scholarship Fund (NISF) provides scholarships to Kentucky residents attending approved LPN, ADN, BSN, or graduate nursing programs. NISF recipients are selected individually by the Board, using specified criteria outlined in regulation 201 KAR 20:390. The amount of each scholarship is $1,500 per semester, a max of $3,000 per year. NISF scholarships may be used for cost of living expenses, as well as school expenses.
Qualifications
An applicant for an NISF award must be a Kentucky resident, and have been admitted to a nursing program (whether located in Kentucky or not) completing core nursing courses. Students completing prerequisite classes are not eligible to apply. Preference for awards is given to applicants with financial need, LPNs pursuing RN education, and RNs pursuing BSN and graduate nursing education. You may submit an application even if you do not qualify for financial aid. Scholarship recipients may be eligible to receive a continuation of funding if successful academic progression is maintained throughout the nursing program until program completion. An application must be submitted for a continuation of funding each academic year.
To meet the financial need preference category, remember to apply early for financial aid through the school you are attending. It takes several weeks to process and receive the Student Aid Report (SAR) required for financial need consideration. Submit the SAR (all pages 1-8 or less; 1-3 or less if filed on web; the SAR must include both EFC# and a statement of Pell eligibility) along with the application form. You may submit an application even if you do not qualify for
financial aid. Application forms received by the June 1 deadline will be given the same consideration as those received early.

The Meland Foundation grants funding for scholarships to nurses in the NJ-NY-CT-PA area with BSN degrees wishing to pursue Nurse Practitioner degrees with a pediatric specialty and who share the vision of the Foundation.
The Meland Foundation — founded by a beloved pediatrician who built a successful family medical practice in Northern New Jersey — provides and supports inspirational and informational programs to enhance the ability of families to care for loved ones and to provide hope to patients and their caregivers.

National CPR Association
In recognition of your commitment to helping others through the practice of a medical profession, we at National CPR Association invite you to join our Healthcare Training Scholarship Plan to aid you in your endeavors to become a qualified professional in your chosen field.
We shall be awarding a $3,000 scholarship to the author of the winning essay and one (1) complimentary pass each to the CPR Certification program of their choice, valued at $275, to the second and third place winners. The program recruits and nurtures professionals in-training for primary health care disciplines and specialties most needed to deliver quality, culturally competent health services to Native Hawaiians throughout the State of Hawai‘i.
In addition to requiring admittance to accredited schools and programs, this merit-based program awards generous scholarships to eligible individuals that appear to be dedicated to providing primary health services to Native Hawaiians and their families in Hawai‘i.
Recipients are obligated to serve full-time in medically un- or under-served areas in Hawaii for two (minimum) to four (maximum) years, depending upon the length of time of scholarship support.
Scholars will receive funding for tuition, books, other related educational costs, and a monthly stipend while enrolled “full-time” in an accredited university/college program. A coordinated service plan (licensure, service site) will be designed specifically for each graduate.
The Naugatuck Valley Medical Scholarship Fund (NVMSF) is a fund dedicated to financially assisting graduating high school students who plan to major in a medical or biomedical field. The NVMSF extends scholarships to students in the lower Naugatuck Valley area of Connecticut, which is made up of the towns of Ansonia, Derby, Seymour, Shelton, Oxford, and Beacon Falls.

Rita Reis Wieczorek will be Nurses Educational Funds’ 2021 Honoree and the Rita Reis Wieczorek Maternal-Infant & Pediatric Nursing Scholarship is the newest named NEF scholarship fund.
The Rita Reis Wieczorek Scholarship Fund for Maternal-Infant and Pediatric Nursing is the very first NEF Scholarship to specifically focus on maternal-infant and pediatric nursing. Over four decades Dr. Wieczorek has devoted her career to providing the best maternal-infant and pediatric care to her patients as well as teaching the highest standards of care to master’s and doctoral nursing students, motivating them to excel in their care for the well-being of mothers, infants and children.

The Nurses Make a Difference Scholarship is an annual $1,000 scholarship awarded by Cascade Healthcare Solutions to an aspiring nurse who is currently enrolled in an undergraduate nursing program at a college or university, or is a high school student who has been accepted into a school with an undergraduate nursing program.
Cascade Healthcare Solutions is excited to support individuals who have the goal to pursue one of the most essential professions in our society with the Nurses Make a Difference Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded through an essay contest, with a different essay topic each year. The aspiring nurse with the best essay as selected by our scholarship committee will receive the $1000 scholarship. The essay will be assessed based on quality, thoughtfulness, and relevance to the topic. The application deadline is annually on August 1.

2021 Parthenon Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Scholarship
The Parthenon Company appreciates the service and important role of the wound, ostomy, and continence nurse (WOCN). We know how vital you are to the ostomy patients nationwide and we want to help out by providing a scholarship to nurses currently enrolled at a a WOC Nursing Education Program (WOCNEP) accredited by the WOCN Society. This includes: Cleveland Clinic, Rutgers University, The Wound and Ostomy Education Program at San Jose State University, University of Washington, WEB WOC, and Emory University.

How Does it Work?

Write a 500 to 1000 word essay about why you think you should win this scholarship.
Your essay should emphasize your why. What was it in your life that inspired you to want to make this world a better place, and what are you doing now (and plan to do in the future) that will help shape the future of this planet and the people on it.
Keep in mind that we’re also looking for personality, so make sure to take out general advice and cliches.

R&D Systems is proud to support education in science with a scholarship program established to students who are pursuing a degree in a science related field (Life Science, Medical Science, Health Science).
A $1500 (or international currency equivalent) scholarship will be awarded twice a year for one student in the fall semester and one student in the spring semester. *For universities within the US, Canada, and European Countries only.
